Abstract
The authors had attempted to find a clinical pattern of psychogenic pain of patients who had visited the psychiatric department Chung-Ang University Hospital from March 1 1990 to July 30 1990.
Subject were composed of 48 control group who complained of psychogenic pain and 43 contrast group who complained of organic pain.
The sampling was performed though psychiatric interiew and questionnaire. The data were analyzed by a chi-square test, an ANOVA and Mann-whitney U test
@ES The result were summarized as follows:
@EN 1) The patients who complained of psychogenic pain had a clinical features such as female.and divorced or bereavement marital status.
2) The more severe psychogenic pain group was, the more vague types of pain complaints were and the more mild psychogenic pain group was, the more specific types of pain complaints as head and extremities.
3) The more severe psychogenic pain group was, the more secondary gain tendency and immature defense were.
4) At a severe psychogenic pain group, there more chronic tendency, lower degree of satisfaction for therapeutic management and dependent type of pain coping strategy.
5) The stressful life events related with psychogenic pain were those as health, marital life, family and social life.
6) The anxiety level of psychogenic pain group was higher than that of organic pain group.
